remotes are used more often for things like switching channels and turning up and turning down the volume, which happens more often then compared to a game where like for example you have 2 disks and the game lasts 12 hours.
that would mean you would have to actually get up and change the disk like for example when you complete the first 6 hours and change it to the second one. whereas a remote, channel changing and volume changing occurs more often than disk changing in a vi...
